Hi! Would you like to get to know me? My name is Tom and I'm new to Mickaboo. Six of us came in together to a local shelter after our elderly owner just wasn't able to care for us anymore. After a few days in a local animal shelter, Mickaboo came to get some of us for a vet visit. The vet said we are all too fat from sitting around eating sunflower seeds with no exercise. I took a long road trip to come to my foster home and guess what? My foster dad is named Tom too! I'm a Blue & Gold macaw, probably male but that hasn't been tested and no one knows how old I am. I'm going to settle in here and see what my foster dad starts serving from the kitchen. Please check in for updates. UPDATE: 10/05/08 A bird man on the move thats me. I am going to a new foster home with fewer birds, which means I may get a lot more attention. I am coming out of my shell and learning to be fun as well as beautiful. I was sort of a wreck when Mickaboo first entered my life - bedraggled, sullen, and hadn't been out of my cage in years. Now I am learning "step up" and need a teacher to continue to work with me. I am not aggressive or noisy. I speak some human and some gibberish. Maybe we could learn to speak each other's language? Print this page |
