UPDATE 10/31/05: Angelo is a very lucky little guy who was adopted by an avian vet. His cage is located in the center of the clinic where he is lavished with attention by the staff and visitors. During times when the clinic is closed for lunch or for the evening, everyone takes turns letting him ride on their shoulders, including the janitor. The doctor says that every morning when she comes in she has to thin out the new toys that people just couldn't resist bringing him and, of course, everyone has special treats they bring in to spoil him with from last night's dinner. Once when they were having a staff meeting in the back, Angelo got upset because he'd been left behind, so they had to go and bring him in and let him walk up and down the table visiting with everyone. Then when all is quiet in the evening and the doctor is doing her paperwork, Angelo gets his snuggle time. As soon as she picks him up, he nestles close to her with a big sigh and closes his little eyes. Aahh, another days work done! UPDATE 5/9/05: My foster mom discovered that other birds don't interest me, not even other lovebirds. But I LOVE people! So if you're looking for a companion for another bird, I probably wouldn't be a good choice. But if you're looking for a little buddy for yourself and have a lot of time for me, I'm the one you want! Most stray birds taken to an animal shelter don't win a prize, but I did! I was declared "the sweetest little bird ever taken in by the shelter." For my reward, Mickaboo is going to find me a great home. I'm Angelo, a peach-faced lovebird. Obviously, since I was found as a stray, nothing is known about my background, but my foster parents think I'm young because I'm so curious and full of energy. I love to hang out with people. I'll sit on your shoulder, then climb down your arm to see what you are doing. So if there is anything you don't want me to get into, make sure you put it out of my reach! I "get into" good food as well. I try anything that's offered - pellets, seeds, nutrian cakes, people food, and broccoli. In short, I am a real prize myself and you can try to win me by contacting Mickaboo. Print this page |
