Hi, it's me - Caesar! I'm a 4 year old Umbrella cockatoo. I was born May 20, 2004. My Dad says I'm a really good bird - he's just not able to give me as much time as I truly deserve at this time. I get to come out of my cage several times a week right now for about 30 minutes at a time - but I would REALLY love to be out every day and play around. I've had a good start in life - I eat pellets already! I also like broccoli, brussels sprouts, carrots and other good healthy veggies. I have a cage in the main living area of my home, but at night I like to go into a smaller sleep cage in a quiet room so I can get my 12 to 14 hrs of sleep. My family is very considerate that way. You see, when birds live full time in the living room they often don't get enough rest. Such as if someone likes to stay up late watching TV. So this works out well for me. I'm a healthy guy, never been sick, and don't pluck or anything like that. I talk some too - my favorite things to say are "hello Caesar bird", "hi chicken", "hi baby" and "good bird"! Kind of cute aren't I? I'm a little bit noisy around 6:30 in the evening - which is typical of parrots in general. That is flock call time in the wild. I am very well socialized and rarely bite. Typically it's only been with strangers who stick their fingers in my cage which no one should do anyway right? Generally I'm quite shy around strangers. I step-up and just love head scratches. I am used to being around dogs, but am never left alone with them - but they don't bother me to be around. At this time I prefer the man of the house, but that does't mean I don't like women - I just seem to have taken a liking to this particular person in my household. So - if you're looking for a cockatoo I just might be the guy! Please email the cockatoo coordinators and let them know if you'd like to meet me. Catch ya later! Notice: Due to the notoriously difficult nature of cockatoos, Mickaboo prefers that cockatoos not be a households' first parrot.
