Hey there! The name is Jake. I am a very and affectionate Congo African Grey who came to Mickaboo for medical reasons. You see, I was diagnosed with a fungal disease called Aspergillosis, in which a fungus actually grows inside of my air sacs and lungs. I was brought to an Avian Vet by my previous caregivers, but when they heard about my long treatment plan, they decided to let me go. Asper can take a long time to eradicate, and I will be on meds for a minimum of 3 months. But lucky for me, the Avian Vet and his Technician saw the beauty inside of me, and called Mickaboo. I am currently living with my foster mom and her family, and I really love being with them! My foster mom takes such good care of me and administers my meds on a daily basis and takes me to my Vet appointments for periodic check ups. I am doing so much better, but I still have a ways to go before I am completely healed. My foster mom really has grown attached to me, so maybe I have found my forever home with her and her family!
