Greetings from good-time Charlie --or maybe "long-time" Charlie is a better name, considering my story. You see, I am living proof that a well-fed and well cared for bird can outlast several human relationships and still need more. I am about 20 years old, fairly young by African Grey standards -- and was purchased as a youngster by a nice older gentleman. When he passed away a few years back, I stayed with his wife for a while and we provided companionship for each other. Then when his wife could no longer care for me, their granddaughter graciously took me in. She is a nice person and all, but I made it clear to her that I need lots of attention and it turned out that she was unable to provide as much as I desired. I am enjoying my time in foster care but I do want to go to a permanent home and I do mean "permanent" this time! I am on a great diet, including Harrisons organic pellets and a variety of healthy foods. I relish my out-of-cage time and my time with people so I will need to go to a home that can provide a lot of these. My vocabulary consists of over 50 words and an occasional shriek when I have been left alone for too long. I am a real loverboy when my social needs are being met, but I can get nervous when they are not. My favorite things are sunshine, peanuts (which I get in moderation!), spending interactive time with my human family, sampling healthy foods, and exchanging kissing sounds. While I enjoy my family interactions, I also like to have a favorite person, a best friend and confidante who will always have time and affection (and food!) to share. Are you looking for a best friend like me? Call Mickaboo and ask for Charlie!
