UPDATE 1/27/05 Here is the latest report from Pearl's new Mom: It looks like Pearl is finally cured of all of the various infections she picked up on her travels - a clean bill of health! She is the most affectionate little bird we've ever encountered, but a little bossier since she's feeling better. The biggest problem with Pearl is that everyone who meets her wants to keep her and take home - which is probably important to remember about a lot of our birds. Many of their good qualities only develop upon acquaintance. I'm a Pearl of great price-or at least of great value. I'm a pearl cockatiel who was found as a stray. I was in good condition except for some bacterial infections that had affected my liver. My liver values are normal now, but I'm still on medication for infections. Iím a very gentle girl, but I can be quite demanding about getting the attention I deserve. I expect to get my head scratched frequentlyvery frequently! My foster mom understands, though. In fact, she appreciates me so much that she is adopting me! I was doubly lucky for a stray-lucky to be found and lucky to end up with a great Mickaboo home. Of course, that is no more than what a precious Pearl deserves. Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
