Hi, we're Tiko and Gigi the Maroon Bellied Conures. Tiko is the feisty one and I'm Gigi the sweet one. I'm not sure how to step up, but you're welcome to reach down and pick me up anytime and snuggle and scratch my head. I'm very gentle, but I get a little nervous around people since the last home I was in had small children who liked to handle me. Now Tiko, he's the social one, but he tends to get too excited sometimes and can be nippy. And beware if you have other birds, he's got little bird syndrome and likes to pick fights and mom has to pull him away so he doesn't get hurt. I guess I just have a thing for bad boys, cause I follow him wherever he goes and sometimes he'll snuggle up and preen my head and back! What heaven! At night we climb in our little green sleep tent and you'll see a tail sticking out each end. So if you've got room in your house and heart for us, please give Mickaboo a call. I'm Tiko, a Maroon Bellied Conure and I'm quite a feisty little character. I love to snuggle under your chin and just when you think I'm adorable, I'll reach up and give you a hard love bite on your chin. So I'm not for the fainthearted, but I'll definitely keep you entertained. When I see someone coming towards my cage, I leap up on the side and beg in my chittering voice to be let out, and hopefully, to catch a ride on my favorite person. I also get upset when I get fed and will nip at fingers, because what I really want is to come out and play! Who wants to eat, when there's a big world to explore! And even though I'm anxious to spend time with my family, I'm a pretty quiet little bird. My friend Gigi and I came to Mickaboo on St. Patrick's Day, so I'm hoping I've come to the end of my rainbow and will be finding a pot-o-gold for this wee little bird in a nice forever home! Hi, I'm Gigi. Not my best side you're seeing here, because I'm cute on all sides, so you'll just have to come visit me to see the whole package! I'm kinda shy since I got left in a box outside of Petco, and then a nice lady took me home. I had a friend that looked like me there, but the nice lady got too sick to keep me and now here I am again without a family or a friend. I'm eager to come out and explore and sometimes I get into places I shouldn't. When that happens, my foster mom just reaches right down and picks me up and I'm so sweet I don't even bite. I haven't quite figured out the step up thing, but once I'm picked up I enjoy cruising on a shoulder. And who said Conures are loud? I rarely make a sound, and when I do it's a cute little chittering noise just to remind you I'm still here and ready for some one-on-one time. I love my little green sleep tent, and when I'm all snuggled up in there, I blend right in and my foster mom can't see me! hee hee! I'm looking for my third home in a year, but they say the third time's the charm, so make this my lucky day and call Mickaboo to say I'm yours forever! Print this page |
