I am one of the many cockatiels who are lost each year. Fortunately, I was found, rescued, and turned over to Mickaboo for another chance. I'm Duncan, a handsome grey male with some distinctive head markings. My age is unknown. I'm now getting used to clipped wings and stepping up. For rewards, I get wonderful head scratches. Sometimes I get to ride on shoulders but that treat is limited because I've been known to abuse the privilege by getting a bit bossy and nippy. Every day I learn to appreciate human company more and more, though I also will call to any cockatiels I heard and enjoy looking out the window at the wild birds. I'm a talented whistler and will entertain you with part of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and the wolf whistle. In the food department, I love spray millet and seed mix, but I?m already expanding my diet to include pellets, peas and corn. As is natural for my species, I am comfortable "ground-feeding" and I?m more apt to try new foods when they are presented by my feet. So whether you want me to be an only-guy or a member of your cockatiel flock, I could fit right in. Just remember that the more attention and enrichment you bring to my life, the more I'll bring to yours! Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
