UPDATE: "My coronation is complete. I'm now Princess Kula, the majestic, loveable, and loving. I'm the center of attention in this castle where I arrived shortly after Katrina the hurricane. I dance, ride to grandma's house, play ball, camp, and swing while calling, "Whoo, whoo!" The sofa is my throne and there I keep crown and scepter (or rather my favorite mix of toys) in my own special box. Sundays are a special day when my subjects gather to have lunch in my honor and pass me from shoulder to lap to shoulder. Well, in truth every day is special for me and my people because every day is for kisses and cuddling and new fun things!" I would start by saying I'm worth my weight in gold, but I don't weigh much, so I'm worth much more! My name, Kula, means "gold" in Hawaiian. I'm a beautiful female umbrella cockatoo, about 7 years old. For the last year I have been in a good home, but my temporary person has 3 others 'toos, and I need more than 1/4 of a household's attention. I prefer men to women. I can be a couch potato with you while you watch TV if you don't mind a potato that walks around a bit. I also like to take showers and play with the wooden goodies in my toy box. Having something to do keeps me quieter. Notice I say "quieter" and not "quiet." After all, Iím a cockatoo and we are not exactly known for a decibel deficiency. But I can communicate in English, too. My vocabulary includes "Hi, Kula," "Hi, pretty Kula," "Hi, baby," and "Hello." Obviously Iím big on greetings. If you understand cockatoos, can handle some noise, and have plenty of time for me, then here's your chance for a nugget of white go ld! Notice: Due to the notoriously difficult nature of cockatoos, Mickaboo prefers that cockatoos not be a households' first parrot. If you intend to house a cockatoo, please research the following websites: Wikipedia: Cockatoos My Toos Print this page |
