UPDATE 10/31/05 Here is a report from Simon and Garfunkle's new mom: "S & G are sharing their home with 2 green cheeks and a sun conure. When they're out of their cage, they love to fly over to the sun conure's cage. They seem to have a lot to say to him! S & G's cage is quite close to a window. They can see outside and always are alerting me to any dogs or cats that saunter by. They love their millet, apples, oranges, & a bit of broccoli. Garfunkle likes his morning shower misting. Simone isn't too happy with it ! They both do a lot of singing. When S & G get going with the sun conure, it's quite a chorus around here!" Some people should probably just say ìNoî when they get the urge to buy birds. We have been neglected and abused, but our lives are turning around because our former person is going into a drug rehab program. Good for him, good for us. We are Simone and Garfunkle, a pair of lovely cockatiels despite our poor beginnings. I'm Simone, the more talkative 3-year-old. My partner is Garfunkle, a timid guy who is not much more than a year old. We have almost never been out of our cage because we shared a house with cats who roamed around. That house was dirty and smoky and when we were fed, we got stuff like coco puffs and white bread. But in spite of it all, we seem healthy. Our foster mom has introduced us to pellets, millet, and fruit. We are still very young with perhaps decades ahead of us. We need a patient person to continue our education about the good things in life and to teach us that people can be special friends. Are you our bridge over troubled waters? Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
