Rex means king, and I'm King of the Cupboard! For most of my 20-year life, I lived in a kitchen cupboard. No, this is not a sad story. I've had a wonderful life with a loving couple, but now they have health problems and must find a new family for me. I'm a mitred conure who enjoyed playing in my kitchen kingdom. In addition to my cupboard home, I had a ladder system that allowed me to visit another play area on the refrigerator. Now that I'm in foster care, I've moved to a regular old birdcage, but that's ok because I'm a pretty easy going guy and adapted rather well. I'm a great eater----I eat two kinds of pellets, fruits, veggies and other good table foods. Eating is one of my very favorite pastimes. I also LOVE to fly! I'm very strong even with my wings clipped. I like lots of attention, love to snuggle under your chin, but am not too keen on head rubs. I'm not too nippy----in fact the only time I try to bite is when you try to put me back in my cage after playtime. I adore spending time on my playtop and on my human. I don't quite understand the concept of playing with toys yet---but that may come in time. I've been an only bird my entire life, but I could possibly be open to other feathered friends. I have two decades of experience being a wonderful companion and may have a couple of decades left. How many chances do you get to find a royal treasure sitting on a kitchen shelf? Print this page |
