UPDATE 11/03: Here's the news from Mo's new Mom. Now Mo has all the things such a terrific bird deserves: a big new cage, a rope "boing" hanging in the kitchen, a play stand, lots of popsicle sticks and ropes and other toys, and misting every day. Saturday is bath day when he soaks in a pie plate in the sink. He looks like a drowned pile of feathers but then is oh so pretty when he dries. He even has a Bichon Frise pup to command and, in turn, the dog cleans up the dropped pellets. But most of all Mo loves his new "mom." He calls loudly whenever she leaves the room and has even regurgitated for her (but she iscalmly discouraging that kind of demonstration!) She doesn't know if Mo is a he or a she, and doesn't know if he will ever talk much "human," but she knows she has a wonderfully smart, affectionate friend who will give her years of fun and companionship. UPDATE 9/10/03: Here's the latest news from Mo's foster Mom! ""Mo is doing very well! She is shy and is blossoming into a truly wonderful companion. She is very sweet, but takes awhile to warm up to people. She is also eating Harrison pellets now as her base diet. She will even allow me to flip her over on her back. But it took me some time to gain her trust and to have her allow me to do this. But, I honestly can't say anything bad about her! (other than the fact that she LOVES to waste expensive, organic pellets) LoL She is a terrific bird!" Want to take home a cuddly sweater girl? I'm Mo, a Senegal parrot about 6 months old. Some people think Senegals look like we are wearing colorful sweaters. My feathers aren't in the greatest condition right now, but I think I'm still a pretty cute baby. You can hold me on my back in your hand, and rub my sweater-belly, and I'll be your friend for life. Until recently, I belonged to a man who did love me, but his landlord said I was too noisy. Hard to believe, because I just make a bit of noise in the morning when I greet a new day. I am on a seed diet, but I love vegetables and fruits, especially bananas. I'll probably like anything healthful that you want to cook for me. My foster mom says I also seem to like both men and women. And I like being out of my cage several hours every day. The only thing I don't like is the color red. Everybody is entitled to one pet peeve, right? So if you want a compact, colorful African parrot, pick me and I'll show you how to have Mo fun!
