My foster mom has started a blog for me so be sure to follow my progress: http://parrys-journal.blogspot.com/ Hi! My name is Parry, a 27+ year old Blue & Gold female macaw. My former caretaker had me with him for 27 years and I was an adult when he obtained me. It is believed that I am a wild caught bird from Boliva. My owner and I had a great relationship for all those years until he found a human lady love to join his life. The dynamics of our lives changed and they were both busy. They decided Mickaboo was a better place for me to spend some time than sitting alone waiting for them. So I moved to a great home with a new foster mom and dad and other birds. I used to live in a very small cage and am now in one fit for a Macaw Princess. Check out all the toys hanging around. These bird parents know how to win my heart - big cage, new toys, special foods, lots of attention. I am an escape artist of the greatest skill - I can get out of anything so these crafty folk were ready for me but I'm locked in by chains of love. I show a bit of skin here and there but it certainly does not detract from my personality and my willingness to trust people who come my way. I want to get settled down again soon so if you dream of a mellow Macaw Princess joining your family, sitting on the arm of your chair, having a bite of dinner, and giving you a cheery "Hello" when you come in the door, you just might want to visit me.
