Buzz....buzz....guess who? Bumblebee, silly! Ok I am not a bumblebee but my beautiful colors sure do look like one. And my wings flutter just as fast as a bee too! I love to fly and as soon as my foster mom takes the lid off my hospital tank I fly up and perch on the ledge. You would never know I have only one leg. I am one tough little budgie. I was found on a street corner and taken to the animal shelter. Mickaboo was contacted and I was admitted to a bird hospital. My doctor said that my leg was literally ripped off. No one knows what happened but in reality I should have bled to death! Pretty scary, huh? The nice avian doctor said that it is a true miracle that I am still alive; a testament to the strength of us budgies. We may be small but please don't underestimate us. I am missing some feathers on my head and to be honest, am a bit tattered but my foster mom thinks that I am just the cutest little budgie EVER! She tells me I am special all the time. Like I mentioned earlier, I am in a hospital tank while I recover from my ordeal but I will be ready for a cage soon. I have finished all my medication but I am waiting for my injury to heal. My foster mom is preparing a special cage just for me. It will be set up in a way that will enable me to get around with just one leg. I am excited to move into my new home! Once my doctor gives me the ok I can kiss this hospital tank good bye! I am a really good eater. I enjoy my Nutrian Cakes but have not tried veggies yet. I hear the other budgies here in my foster home. Boy am I excited to meet them after quarantine is over. I am a very lucky little birdie to be alive. I have many years ahead of me and will bring lots of joy and beautiful budgie chatter to my new forever home. Print this page |
