Update 7/2/06: Fremont has been treated for heavy metal poisoning and appears to have fully recovered from its effects. There are still some tiny pieces that show up on xrays, but that doesn't mean they will ever effect her. Fremont is a busy, happy budgie. She likes hanging out with other female budgies, doing what budgies do (playing with toys, eating, gossiping about other budgies). Since her cere still shows the effects of overactive hormones in the past, she will do better in an environment that doesn't include male budgies. You know how sometimes novelists refer to a "woman of a certain age", and what they really mean is "uncertain age"? Well that's me -- a "budgie of a certain age". I'm not a spring chick, nor am I an old hen. I'm a mature lady budgie that has fallen on hard times. I turned up in an animal shelter with no information. I, of course, know what my background is, but it's not something I'm prepared to discuss. We budgies like to look forward, not dwell on the past. I'm looking forward to an exciting new life with a new family. I'm full of energy, tame and friendly. I like to explore, and I like spending time with other budgies. I eat just about everything. In fact, I mistakenly ate some metal bits a while back and now I have to take some nasty-tasting medicine to get rid of them. As a happy bonus, I'm Easter-egg colored! So, if a friendly pastel-colored lady budgie sounds like just what you need to make your life complete -- here I am! Notice: Due to the highly social nature of parakeets, unless a household currently includes a parakeet, Mickaboo generally requires that a minimum of two parakeets be adopted. Print this page |
