UPDATE: Sadly Radar's companion, Sydney passed away. She is believed to have been about 20 years old. Radar is about 9 years old and seems to be handling his loss well considering. He is still waiting for his forever home; maybe one with another tiel to keep each other company. Or as a single tiel as he seems to be doing well as an only bird in his foster home. Hi! We are Sydney & Radar. Here is what our foster family have to say about us: Sydney is a sweet, gentle girl who will step-up and spend time with you. She is 18 years old. Radar, seven years old, is a spirited fellow who is nippy (we think he's defending Sydney and their cage). He needs some work on his manners, but we think he would be well worth it. He loves to puff his chest out and sing songs. He sings "Cabaret", an Italian folk song, and a variety of whistles. He will prance around the bottom of his cage singing to Sydney a few times a day. Radar enjoys baths either with the spray bottle or in the tub with the hand sprayer on gentle (he will sometimes puff up and let the water hit him all over). Sydney does not like water at all, but she will tolerate a gentle bath in the tub or sink if you are quick about it. Both will tolerate being gently held in a towel afterwards for a gentle filing of their toe nails. After bath time, they will hang out under their heat lamp while they dry out. They are on a great diet of Roudybush mini, and the occasional seed treat. Don't we sound great!! Call Mickaboo...hurry! Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
