My name is Scottie, but I'm not a terrier, I'm a handsome cockatiel, about 8 years old. I used to live with an older woman and when she couldn't care for me any longer, I moved in with her daughter. Somehow, I lost my left eye. I need some routine care because of that, but I can see fine with my right eye and am a healthy guy. My favorite food is a warm dish of peas, carrots and corn. I get along fine with other cockatiels, but not being able to see what's going on to my left makes me vulnerable to bullying. I could be fine with a cockatiel friend, but our playtime would have to be supervised and I might need my own cage for eating and sleeping. By the way, I don't know how to speak "cockatiel" very well, so I communicate with people sounds. I can do a great wolf whistle and say "I chud you," (so my pronunciation isn't perfect) and "pretty bird." Because I'm afraid of hands, you might at first think I don't like people. Not true! When you return home, I'll greet you with whistles and my own little song and dance. Put a towel over your hand, and I'll gladly come out of my cage for you. I love to sit on a shoulder and watch television. Actually, I don't just "watch," I also vocalize with the soundtracks, especially when it is an exciting action pic. I'm just a happy bird who will make someone a great companion. Won't someone beam me up? Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
