UPDATE 4/7/06: Well, the shelter romance didn't last and Bonnie and Clyde have divorced. Bonnie decided she preferred hanging out with Spunky and Chipper, so all three of them are off to a new home together with lots of other budgies in an indoor aviary. Clyde's name has been changed to "Bandit", so be sure to check out his story in available special needs birds! We are the budgies Bonnie and Clyde. You could call us partners in crime, but we're more the victims than the perpetrators. We met in a shelter and fell in love. I'm Bonnie, the yellow girl. I was found when I flew into someone's home -- it wasn't a burglary, just a search for help. I'm skittish around hands. In fact, I am not all that comfortable with people yet. My pal, Clyde, was surrendered when his person moved to a place where Clyde would have been an outlaw. He was handed over with his own little prison. Actually, his cage was pretty good sized, but it was very dirty and poor Clyde's only perches were rough sand perches. At least he had a nice toy. His former owner said Clyde ate only seed, but our new Mickaboo parent discovered that both of us took to snacking on pellets right away. So far, we have not discovered the joys of veggies or fruits, but maybe you could convince us. Would you like to adopt a couple of kissing bandits? Clyde and I love to kiss and preen each other, and though we may not kiss you, we will steal your heart!
