Hi! I'm looking for a new life - new home, new friends, new diet and lots of fun new activities. My new name is Ellie and I am a Blue & Gold macaw, a DNA sexed female, age unknown. My history is vague - I was left at an animal shelter late at night in an after hours drop box with no information. The shelter staff was intimidated by me and wanted to auction me off to the highest bidder but since there were no takers, I was faced with the "long green mile" until Mickaboo came to my aid. Mickaboo was there on my last day to live and whisked me away to an emergency foster home. Within 24 hours my foster dad had me step up and scratched my head. How intimidating can I be? I have a whole new lease on life and just want someone of my own who thinks I am worth living. I'll write more as I settle in. Update 10/10/07. I recently moved to a new foster home, had a vet check and a DNA sex test. I'm on some antibiotics for a while and will be considered in "R&R" (rest and recuperation) until my next vet check. I'm cute as a big blue & gold button and will be waiting for your knock on my door soon. My new foster mom says I'm a pretty calm macaw and I've started to use my vocabulary: I love you, Pretty Bird, Hello, Wuff Wuff, Pretty Baby, and Hello Baby. You can tell by my words that someone spoke to me in a loving way. I'd like to get that "lovin feelin" again with you in our own house where we can snuggle throughout the coming winter and whisper sweet nothings to each other. Please think about taking me home for the holidays. Print this page |
