Hello, I'm Gretchen. My story is mostly a mystery. I was found in a back yard with another budgie. The two of us were both petrified with fear, and clinging to each other for safety and comfort. My friend, Greta, had been badly injured and was bleeding. Neither of us has talked about what happened to us in the wild, because we're trying to forget it. Greta (whose picture is under special needs on this website) lost her leg. We still live together, and we would be happy to stay to together. We're good friends, and all budgies need friends! Our time in the wild has not given me a lot of confidence, so I'm a wild child -- I'm still pretty afraid of just about everybody. So, I would be happy in a cage full of other budgies, or I would be happy to live in a cage with Greta, just hanging out and being budgies. Like any budgie, I could become friendly with people too, but you'll have to spend some time convincing me that you're a kind person I can trust. Notice: Due to the highly social nature of parakeets, unless a household currently includes a parakeet, Mickaboo generally requires that a minimum of two parakeets be adopted. Print this page |
