Hello hello, Iím Diego! Arenít I the dashing one? Iíve just had my bath and am looking forward to being irresistibly fluffy, ëcause I love to snuggle! Iím a whiteface, which means Iím gray and white without orange cheek patches--quite striking, if you ask me. And so young, too-only 3 months, you see. Ah, to be young and handsome is to be the envy of the world. sigh And yet, mine is a sad story: My clutchmates and I were all born with severe underbites, and when our owner tried to wean us, we couldnít eat any solid food because of our deformed beaks--we were starving and became malnourished. A Mickaboo volunteer convinced our owner to surrender us, but she said we had to be picked up in 24 hours. After much travail and countless phone calls, Mickaboo swooped over the horizon, on a mission all the way to LA to get us. We got to fly away from our troubles in an airplane, then go to a really friendly home and get our first good meal in weeks, and enjoy a wonderful nightís sleep in a warm bed!! It felt a lot like being at a five-star hotel, except they made me get beak surgery, which most hotels wouldnít do. But itís OK, because Iím all fixed up now and ready to go home to a new family! My foster mom says that I love pellets, leafy greens, and other good stuff, and that my beak now works just like everybody elseís. She also says I have a loving, adorable and sweet personality and will make a wonderful companion. And thatís what I want more than anything in the world: a safe place to call home and a true friend to share it with. Is there room in your heart and home for one more? UPDATE: I am I the luckiest boy in the world? I am in a really great home with a girlfriend to call my own, it was love at first sight for me! Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
