I'm Buddy, a grey cockatiel. Though I'm only 5, I looked older when my owner's illness first brought me to Mickaboo. Maybe it was my partial baldness (caused by a plucking companion), or my overgrown beak and nails. Perhaps my poor seed diet and skyhigh cholesterol added the birdie equivalent of a few wrinkles. But Mickaboo could be considered the fountain of youth for some of us lucky birds. I'm eating pellets now and my cholesterol is down nearly to normal. I even nibble kale when an enticing leaf is hung in my cage. Fingers hanging around my cage still make me nervous, so I need a patient person to become my friend. Or I might get along nicely with the right cockatiel pal. In other words, this born-again Buddy really needs a buddy! Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
