UPDATE 10/17/03: Cecil B.'s foster Mom decided to adopt him. Hooray! This is what she says: "I decided to adopt Cecil because I just couldn't imagine life without him. His cheery singing and chirping would be greatly missed if he went to live with someone else. He's got a really stubborn streak when it comes to hand-training, but we've been working on getting him a little more socialized. He loves "talking" to my other birds - his adopted brothers, as long as they don't get near his cage! Little by little I'm seeing positive changes. Progress is really slow!" UPDATED STORY! (1/21/03) Hello again! Cecil B. DeBird here. The last time I checked in I told you my sad tale of living in a bakery with two other cockatiels, on a nasty cart that had been converted into a ěcageî with chicken wire. All we got to eat was sunflower seeds, and we didnít get any attention. As I told you, we were pretty miserable, and this state of affairs made me more than a little grumpy. And frankly, I wasn't too fond of people. But that wasn't hard to understand, since I was treated pretty badly and I was very scared. I just wanted to let you know that since I've been in foster care, I've given you humans a second look and I like what I see! I'll step up now--I don't stay for long, but I'm working on that. I'm a pellet eater now and I'm trying all kinds of other delicious food. My foster Mom said to tell you that I give a beautiful concert every evening at 9 PM. I sing, and sing, and sing! Wouldn't you like me to perform my songs for you or whistle while you work? Give Mickaboo a call today! Notice: Cockatiels are flock animals, and most of them are much happier when they live with at least one other cockatiel! Because of this, unless a household currently includes another cockatiel, Mickaboo usually requires that a minimum of two cockatiels be adopted. Print this page |
