Ahoy Matey! I'm Sinbad a frayed and raggedy little old Red Lored Amazon although I yearn to be Sinbad the Sailor, the swashbuckling hero, who once sailed the seven seas. But alas and alak - for years now (about 36 to be exact) I have lived a quiet and uneventful life, eating my seed mix and drinking my water. What adventures I may have had were within the confines of a cage with nary a toy in sight. I was a family bird and when a son was born to my flock I learned to say "Andrew's in school". I can also say "Hi" and a few other words. I found my way to Mickaboo because this now grown up son, who has been caring for me, has a lot of travel in his life. I don't look very good right now but I'm going in for a health check and some grooming soon. My foster mom is providing some good food and is going to buy me toys. She says it looks like I haven't been held much or let out of the cage often because I act terrified. I'm a little survivor though and think there might be a charming swashbuckling hero hidden beneath my raggedy exterior. Give me a few months of good Mickaboo chow, and a good bath now and then, and the services of a good groomer and a vet, and my loving Mickaboo foster home and I bet you will see a whole different Sinbad looking for you. Notice: Due to the sometimes difficult nature of amazons, Mickaboo prefers that amazons not be a households' first parrot.
