It flew to our side of the street and I was able to get it inside our house while my wife picked up a small cage from the pet store. I posted signs (with image below) all over pour neighborhood in Redwood Shores - with my contact information. I also listed my name and contact info at the Peninsula Humane Society. We plan on trying to find the rightful owner for a week but will need to place the bird for adoption this weekend. I got a towel and was able to toss it over her to catch her, and called Animal Control who came quickly. She appears to be unharmed after her ordeal!

Other comments: Hello, I have a pretty urgent situation and it looks like you guys are the only bird rescue in the city, so I`m hoping you`re responsive. I saw a bird cage with two pretty scared birds out on Fell St. last night. Thought maybe someone was moving, but when I came out of the bar a few hours later, the cage (and birds) were still there. I grabbed the cage and took it and the birds to my apt because I was worried for their health (had parakeets growing up) I`m not allowed to have pets in my apartment, and these birds are pretty loud. I`m very concerned my neighbors will hear them and report me. Even more urgently, I`m going into eye surgery on Thursday this week and do not have the capacity to take care of birds for weeks after while I heal up.
