Distinguishing Features: Green & yellow with black verigated wings. Little blue spots on cheeks. The bird has a leg band. One eye is halfway shut and it had a bit of blood on the beak last night. Animal Shelter said that this was probably from landing on the beak since the wings are clipped and they are top heavy but is fine and eating plenty.
Area Found: Roseville, around Washington, Pleasant grove & Roseville Parkway. Was captured by one of our cats or the parakeet just landed in our back yard. Either that or our second cat took it in it`s mouth and was ready to eat it for dinner.
Other comments: I was able to save it and now the bird is resting and enjoying the new cage I got for it. It has been eating and drinking no problem. I placed a few fliers around the neighborhood and at the SPCA. Sandly we cannot keep this bird because our cats cant wait to take a bite of this delicious dish. Other comments: If you live near SV Mall (Sears end) and your Lutino Tiel glew away today between 4-5 pm, I saw it fly over the parking lot and because it was calling loudly it attracted a pair of crows that chased it for several minutes out of the Conifer trees, over the buildings and parking lot. I think they got him/her but if it escaped it`s certainly injured and over heated. Hopefully someone caught him or her and turned the bird in to Contra Costa Animal Control.
