UPDATE: I've got a new name! Now I'm Honey :) Ask my foster mom how I'm doing now. Hi there! My name's Woody and I'm a female cinnamon pearl cockatiel. You may think that Woody is an unusual name for a girl, but it comes from the fact that I was found outdoors in the city of Woodland, near Sacramento. I'm definitely a female, though, as is evidenced by the pearling on my flight feathers. Male cockatiels don't keep their pearling as they grow up -- something about their not having a Y chromosome that I don't understand -- and I'm over three years old so am already in my adult plumage.

My foster mom says that I'm a sweet bird but somewhat shy of people. I prefer to stay in my cage as much as I can. I like it when other cockatiels come to visit me, though, and I have become more and more comfortable with people the longer I am around them. I'm on a great diet, seem to be very healthy and am probably fairly young. As a female. I'm less vocal than the male cockatiels are but I have a sweet chirp that I make to greet people or to announce when I'm hungry.

I am all ready and waiting to go to my forever home. I will appreciate having other cockatiels around me to be my friends, and humans who will give me a little space while I get to know them. I don't ask for much, really, just a safe home, some bird friends, and healthy food. Do you think you could take me home?
