Many have forgotten this truth, but you must not forget it.
You remain responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

  • Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue will host a Foraging Seminar featuring
    Brian Speer, DVM, DAVBP-Av, ECAMS.
Dr. Speer's presentation is designed to help parrot guardians focus on how to keep their feathered companions busy by foraging for food. Foraging opportunities often help redirect negative behavior in parrots. Come and learn more about how parrots think and behave, and how you can be a better parrot guardian.
    Date: June 29, 2008
    Time: 1:30-3:30PM
Location: Pacifica Community Center, 540 Crespi Drive, Pacifica, CA 94044
    Registration Fee: $25

  • Mickaboo tries to respond to all requests for help, but those requests are exceeding our financial and foster home resources. We currently have over 200 birds in foster care and our monthly vet bills in the first quarter of 2008 averaged $10,000. As a result, we need to consider intake requests on a case by case basis.

If you would like to make a donation to help with these expenses, you may do so here via Network for Good, or by sending a check to P.O. Box 697, San Jose, CA 95106-0697 .

If you have a healthy, socialized bird that needs a new home, please read our tips on Finding Your Bird a New Home.

Thank you for visiting our site. We hope you'll support us in helping these amazingly special birds.
