I`m Irwin, an older cockatiel who`s come back to Mickaboo after years away. In my last home, my best friend passed away, leaving me an only bird, and I really hated it! Since I came back to Mickaboo, my foster parents have been introducing me to a whole lot of others birds, but it was hard to find the right one for me... until I met Caleb! I`ve got a small xanthoma on my wing that keeps me from flying and means that I`m special needs, but I`m still a pretty active bird and I love to flap! I am not a fan of hands, but I`ll hang out on your shoulder if you promise me some millet. If you think you have a place in your home for the two of us, let the cockatiel coordinator know.
In nature, cockatiels live in large flocks. A single bird in a cage spends much of his/her life being lonely because humans have things they must do that take them away. We therefore will only adopt a single cockatiel to a household if there is already at least one cockatiel living there. Otherwise, cockatiels must be adopted in groups of two or more.
